Film Classifications
General (suitable for all
ages). This classification symbol does not mean that your child
will enjoy the film or video, it may be intended for adults. The
G symbol means you can feel confident that your child can watch
this programme without supervision.

Guidance (parental guidance recommended for children
under l5).This symbol warns parents that the film or video could
contain scenes which may be upsetting or confusing to children
and that adult guidance is advisable. |
15+
| Mature (recommended for
mature audiences: that is, people 15 years and over). Material
with this symbol is not legally restricted, but it is not recommended for children
under 15. |

Accompanied (restrictions apply to children under 15).
This symbol means that the material is legally
restricted. Children under the age of
15 are not
allowed to see MA films or hire them on video unless their
parent or guardian is with them.
You are
allowed to take your child to a MA film but you must remain with
your child throughout the film. |
18+ 
| Restricted (restricted to
adults: that is people 18 and over). This material is not
suitable for children and may only be viewed by adults. No person under
the age of 18 is allowed to access this material, even if they
are with their parent or guardian. There is no 'R' rating for computer games |

| Restricted (restricted to
adults only) This material is a special and legally
restricted category which only contains sexually explicit
material between consenting adults. It usually appears in a video
format and it may not be sold or
distributed in Western Australia or other states of
Australia. However, private possession of this material is not an
offence. |
